Clubhouse Farm class visits give educators the opportunity to enrich and expand their curriculum in a hands-on and experiential learning environment. Through a play-based structure, the land creates learning opportunities to discover the basis of agriculture, ecology, physics and entomology – all stealthily disguised as fun.
We offer programs for elementary school groups on a seasonal basis. We also can offer unique tours and programs for post-secondary students, homeschool groups and community organizations.

Clubhouse Farm Class Visits:

Cost & Outline: School Year 2019-2020
The Clubhouse Farm outdoor classroom is available for class visit bookings during the school year.  A typical day starts at 9:30am and wraps up at 1:30pm.
The cost is $13 per child. This cost includes a morning snack, lunch, and an afternoon snack. Our Farmhouse Kitchen is nut-aware and we take into account food allergies and dietary requirements. Please email us a list of your group’s allergies and dietary requirements 2 weeks in advance of your trip. Your booking will be confirmed with your invoice – it be sent two weeks before your trip and we ask that it be processed prior to your visit so our administration team’s books can be kept up-to-date.

Morning snack examples

Depending on dietary requirements, this snack may consist of freshly baked biscuits with butter and seasonal farm-made jam, or cream cheese on crackers. Apples are a usual fruit served on the side. It will be served on a table in the courtyard for a free-flow self-service from 9:30am to 10:30am.
Lunch: 11:30-12:30-ish
Autumn and Early Spring: seasonal soup with a fresh baked bun or biscuit. There are two soup bases: a vegetable soup (vegan) and a chicken soup. They can both be gluten free when requested.  Ingredients will be posted in the outdoor kitchen.
Winter: Campfire-roasted hotdogs is a treat-style lunch in which children can use an extendable roasting stick to cook their own hotdog over a fire. Please note all lunches will have a fruit and veggie side.
Late Spring and Summer: A “build-your-own” Ploughman’s Lunch in the Outdoor Kitchen. At the sandwich bar you’ll find freshly baked buns, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, pickles, cheese and condiments.

Afternoon snack examples

A baked good is our go-to afternoon snack. A freshly made muffin top, cookie, or seasonal fruit crumble will be served in the courtyard after clean up time. Children collect their backpacks, come up the hill, choose a portion of snack and have a seat in the garden to eat before it’s time to board the bus.

Transportation

Please note that the school bus is booked separately from us through your school district. Many drivers are familiar with the route, but please confirm the location with your driver. The document Big Yellow School Bus Route shows the sharp angle of the one-way driveway, and the southbound route on Anderson Road. Please pass it on to your driver.
