The Clubhouse offers full-time daycare in our Early Years Programs for children from 12 months of age until they begin kindergarten. Programs are available at multiple locations with flexible full-day schedules to support working families.
Children are full of wonder and curiosity, with unique perspectives and an incredible capacity to learn through play. At Clubhouse, we nurture this natural desire to explore by offering children time, space, choices, and access to the outdoors. Our play-based approach encourages children to participate in meaningful activities that build confidence, resilience, and connection.
When children are given the opportunity to engage independently in a calm, natural environment, they begin to form a strong sense of self. This foundation of confidence and self-awareness supports lifelong learning and empowers children to contribute meaningfully to their community.
“Participating in the process teaches children to recognize opportunities to contribute to the world around them.”
Nature-Based Program – Clubhouse children begin visiting our outdoor programs as soon as they are toilet trained. Twice a week, they head to the Treehouse Forest or Clubhouse Farm for immersive nature-based learning. Activities include gardening, cooking, building, and leading—offering children the opportunity to engage with their environment and each other in purposeful ways. We invite all families to tour our outdoor programs before their child begins.
Literacy Program: Name Tags – Every child and educator at Clubhouse receives a personalized name tag featuring a picture that begins with the same letter and sound as their name. These tags are used throughout the day for identification and literacy games, helping children naturally build early literacy skills including letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and vocabulary development.
Developmental Tools: Ages & Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) – To better understand and support each child’s individual development, we work closely with families using the ASQ tool. This questionnaire helps parents and educators identify a child’s strengths and areas for growth across key developmental domains, including communication, motor skills, problem solving, and social-emotional wellbeing.
Lunch Time – Lunch is a cherished time in our daycare program. Tables are set with placemats and handmade literacy name tags, creating a home-like and calm atmosphere. At our outdoor sites, lunch is served picnic-style, and often includes fresh, seasonal vegetables grown at Clubhouse Farm. This shared mealtime strengthens community, gratitude, and healthy eating habits.
Nap & Rest Time – After a full morning of learning and a nourishing lunch, all children are provided with a rest period. Each child has their own cot, crib, or mattress with clean, cozy bedding. While some older children may outgrow naps, they are still given time to rest their bodies before engaging in quiet activities such as puzzles, books, or drawing.

Pre-K Program
Ages 3+ to 5 years (year before starting kindergarten is prioritized)
The Clubhouse offers a nature-based, part-time Pre-K program for children in their final years before kindergarten. This year-round program provides enriching outdoor experiences that build confidence, independence, and school-readiness.
Children are innately curious, imaginative, and capable—especially when supported in environments that value exploration, creativity, and self-direction. Our Pre-K Forest Program is designed with these principles at its core. Set in the natural surroundings of our Treehouse Forest and Clubhouse Farm, this program gives children time and space to investigate, question, and discover through purposeful play and connection to the land.
When children engage deeply with nature and are offered the freedom to make independent choices, they begin to understand their role in the world around them. This fosters self-assurance, emotional resilience, and a strong foundation for future learning.
“Rooted in nature, children grow into confident, capable learners ready to take on the world.”
Nature-Based Curriculum – The Pre-K Forest Program is fully outdoors and guided by our belief that nature is the best classroom. Each session includes hands-on activities such as gardening, storytelling, shelter building, nature journaling, and cooking over the fire. Children learn how to collaborate, lead, and contribute to group projects—skills that will serve them well in kindergarten and beyond. We encourage families to visit the site and explore our natural classroom before beginning the program.
Literacy & Communication Through Play – Children are immersed in literacy-rich environments where storytelling, singing, and language games unfold naturally. From circle time reflections to name recognition activities, we embed early literacy skills through engaging, developmentally appropriate experiences that celebrate each child’s voice.
Developmental Focus – In preparation for kindergarten, we nurture the whole child—socially, emotionally, cognitively, and physically. We use a strengths-based approach supported by tools like the Ages and Stages Questionnaires (ASQ) to help families and educators better understand each child’s development. This allows us to tailor learning experiences that support every child’s unique journey.
Lunch in the Wild – In true forest school fashion, children share a picnic-style lunch each day in the fresh air. Whether seated on a log circle or a forest mat, mealtime becomes an opportunity to practice gratitude, social interaction, and mindfulness. In-season vegetables from Clubhouse Farm often make their way into snack or lunch discussions and activities.
Rest & Rhythm – While there is no designated nap time in our Pre-K Forest Program, children are given opportunities throughout the day for calm, restful moments. Whether it’s a quiet story under the trees or a moment of solitude in a forest nook, these peaceful pauses are essential to balance the energy of exploration.
